Description
A cabinet card photograph of the interior of a citrus fruit packing house at San Dimas, California, ca. 1910. The black and white image shows dozens of persons gathered around equipment for sorting, cleaning and other tasks for packing the fruit. In front on a bench are three boxes of fruit, possibly both lemons and oranges, and one is stamped "San Dimas C. U.," for the San Dimas Citrus Union, later the San Dimas Orange Growers Association. To the left is are stacks of crates with labels on the end, perhaps like the one at the front that shows a girl and a dog. While there is some abrasions along the edges on the matte, the image is clean and the condition is good.
