A cabinet card photograph of the Monrovia, California area, G. R. King, ca. 1888. The view looks to the east and takes in farmland, houses and other structures, hills and the San Gabriel Mountains near the newly-developed townsite. On the reverse is an ink inscription indicating that the image was "looking East residential portion above White Oak Avenue." There is minor soiling, edge abrasions, fading and some stains on the reverse, but the overall condition is good to fair.
