Description
A cabinet card photograph, "View of Cottage on Adams St. Los Angeles," Stanton and Burdick, ca. 1889. The single-story Italianate residence has a front entrance and half porch, as well as a covered side entrance and dormer windows in the attic. There is a curved driveway with another drive at the left and a large lawn area with plants and an arbor in front of the house. Part of the adjacent house is at the right. The photographer's names and address are printed at the bottom of the mount. On the reverse are an ink inscription with the title and a stamp with the name and address of Souder Brothers book and stationery store. With some stains and soiling on the image, foxing, heavy soiling on the reverse, abrasions and curvature of the matte, the general condition is fair.
