2012.369.1.1Description
A cabinet card photograph, "View on Adams Street, Los Angeles," unatributed, ca. 1880s. The view shows the front yard and part of the front elevation of a one-story residence. The building's entrance is covered with thick vines, which look like ivy, and the yard has walks, a palm tree, pampas grass, shrubbery, pepper trees and more. The title is inscribed in ink on the reverse along with what appears to be "J.M.S." and a stamp for the Hollenbeck Bookstore in Los Angeles. With soiling, fading, stains on the reverse, curvature of the mount and some edge abrasions, the overall condition is good.Lexicon
