Description

A cabinet card studio full-length portrait of a woman, George N. Dewey, Los Angeles, ca. 1890s. The woman, appearing to be in her twenties, stands with her hand on a rustic wood fence post in front of a backdrop with a brick and stone archway and gate. She wears a dark-colored dress with a large bustle and a high collar and much of the costume appears to be velvet. The dress is composed of both velvet sections and satin. It has a rectangular pattern on the side of the skirt. There is no identification to the image, which has no discernible wear, save very light rubbing and is in good condition.
