A cabinet card studio portrait of a couple and young son, Westervelt and Coules, Boyle Heights, ca. 1890s. The trio are in a studio setting with a backdrop showing draperies and tapestries.The wife, in a black full length dress and brooch on her high collar, stands at left with her right hand behind her back. The husband, wearing a dark suit, white shirt and collar, and dark cravat, sits on something covered by an animal skin rug, and holds the boy, wearing a white gown, on his lap. The photographers' cartouche is at the bottom. With abrasions and stains on the reverse of the matte and light soiling, and abrasions, the overall condition is good.Lexicon
