A cabinet card studio portrait of a mother and baby, Frank G. Schumacher, Los Angeles, 1890s. The image shows the woman in a black dress with intricate bead work at the neck, brest, shoulder, cuffs and elsewhere, holding the infant, wearing a long white christening dress in front of a bare backdrop. The photographer's cartouche is at the bottom and there is a highly elaborate one on the reverse, as well. With some soiling, paper residue at the bottom left outside the image, and edge rubbing, the condition is good.
