A cabinet card studio portrait of a Pullman car conductor, Lawrence and Son, Los Angeles, ca. 1890s. The head-and-shoulder shot of a young man, wearing a dark narrow-collar jacket with pins and a button on the collar and just below it, as well as a cap with a badge identifying his profession. There is an embossed oval around the man for a frame and, with some creasing, soiling, abrasions, and curvature, the condition is good.
