Description
A cabinet card studio portrait of a woman, James D. Westervelt, Los Angeles, ca. 1885-1889. The head-and-shoulder view of the subject, perhaps in her thirties, shows her wearing a black dress or blouse with thick embroidered decorative paisley-like designs and a high, tight collar. Her hair is pulled up in back and is curled in front. With pin holes at the top and bottom, minor signs of foxing, soiling and edge abrasion, the condition is good overall.
