Description
A cabinet card studio portrait of a woman, James D. Westervelt, Los Angeles, ca. 1885-1889. The head-and-shoulder view of the subject, perhaps in her thirties, shows her wearing a black dress or blouse with decorative embroidery on the front, a high, tight collar, on which is a pin with a floral design and what appears to be something of white lace n between buttons toward the bottom. With pin holes at the top and bottom, minor signs foxing, soiling and edge abrasions, the condition is good overall.
