Description
A cabinet card studio portrait of an African American woman, Steckel, Los Angeles, ca. 1890. The woman sits at a three quarter profile angle. She has short curled hair cut close to her head and wears a puffed sleeve, wool coat with a big bow tied at the collar. The reverse includes information about Steckel's accomplishments and studio location at 220 S. Spring St. The item is in good condition with fading, minor abrasion to the back with some acid burn and begining signs of foxing.
