Description
A cabinet card studio portrait of an elderly woman, James D. Westervelt, Los Angeles, ca. 1885-1889. The head-and-shoulder view of the subject, perhaps in her sixties or seventies, shows her wearing a black dress or blouse with decorative vertical piping from the shoulder down the front and perhaps down the back and she has a white lace neckpiece with a pin on it. She appears to have a white headpiece, as well, though the white background makes it hard to tell. With pin holes at the top and bottom, minor foxing signs, soiling and edge abrasions, the condition is good overall.
