Description
A cabinet card studio portrait of Caroline Fogal Eldridge, photographer Michael A. Wesner, Los Angeles, ca. 1890s. The subject is shown in a head-and-shoulder view and she wears a dark dress with moderately puffed sleeves, a high collar with a cameo or brooch on the front and an ornately embroidered front with many buttons, while her hair is pulled up at the back. On the reverse is the name "Caroline." Caroline Fogal was the daughter of Andrew and Phoebe Fogal, farmers in the Green Meadows area south of Los Angeles. With edge stains, soiling and abrasions, the overall condition is good.
