Description
A cabinet card studio portrait of Jessie Staines[sp?], George Steckel, 1899. The subject is seated in a tall armchair and rests her arms on a circular parlor table. She has her right hand holding her cheek and she holds roses in her left. She wears a dress with shoulder straps, on which are floral decorative elements. Her hair is pulled up in back and wears a bracelet and a wedding ring. A large fabric curtain or similar item is in the background. Her name and the year are in pencil on the reverse. With a loss to the upper left corner of the matte, which also has abrasion damage, while the image has some small stains and abrasions, the overall condition is fair.
