Description
A cabinet card studio portrait of Maud Evans, dated 25 December 1897 by Elkanah P. Tresslar, Los Angeles. The photo is in a rectangular shape. The head-and-shoulder view shows Evans wearing a wide-brimmed hat with a white flower on top and a laurel of flowers under it. Two thick strands of ribbon run down the sides from the hat. She also wears a dress with a lace high collar garment over it. On the reverse in ink is "Merry Xmas / Dec. 25, 1897" and then Evans' name in pencil underneath. With staining and soiling to the reverse and edge abrasion, the overall condition is good.
