Description
A cabinet photograph, "18. Fan Palms, Figueroa St.," Los Angeles, Lemuel S. Ellis, ca. 1885. The view is taken from a driveway adjacent to a large lot, in the front yard of which, among expansive lawns, are two fan palm trees. Largely behind the one closest to the photographer is part of the front elevation of a two-story (with attic) house. Other trees next to the residence obscure part of the side elevation. The title is written in ink on the reverse, on which is Ellis's stamp. With some staining, soiling, edge abrasions and slight curvature of the board, the overall condition is fair.
