Description
A cabinet photograph of a family in front of their Los Angeles house, Garden City Foto Company, ca. 1900s. The view shows the husband seated in a sidechair in front of the structure, his wife seated on the porch with a baby on her lap, a girl perhaps six or seven years old by her father, and three boys, appearing to be ages nine through about sixteen or so, standing off to the right. The house is a single-story wood-sided building with a simple half porch, a brick chimney and minimal styling. The boys stand near a small pepper tree and soe bushes and shrubs are around the house. A small barn is at the far left back of the house and what looks like an outhouse is at the right in the field. With warping, soiling and small stains, the overall condition is fair.
