Description
A cabinet photograph of Eloisa and Eliza E. Gonzalez, by Ellis and Son Photographers in Los Angeles, 18 July 1883. Eloisa and Eliza were the older sisters of Laura Gonzalez Temple (1871-1922). The photograph is dedicated to Laura in Spanish on the reverse, in pencil. The two sisters are posed in a studio, sitting on chairs beside a side table. They appear to be in their teens. The sister on the right leans into her sister and clasps her hands over her sister's forearm. They both have long hair tied in the back. They wear dresses with ruffled collars, gathered skirts with velvet trimming. They both wear rings and earrings. With moderate discoloration, abrasions, and minor surface soiling, the object is in fair condition.
