Description

A cabinet photograph of Spring Street near First Street, Los Angeles, ca. 1890s. The view is taken from what appears to be a construction site, as there are steel girders in the foreground and looks down Spring to the Schumacher Block on the left and the Phillips Block at 2nd Street, owned by Pomona rancher Louis Phillips. Pedestrians on the sidewalks and street and horse-drawn vehicles are also of note. There are no indications of photographer or other inscriptions. With some small stains, moderately heavy soiling and edge abrasion to the mount, the overall condition is fair.
