Description

A cabinet photograph of the Hotel Rowland in Puente, Blanchard photographer, ca. 1890s. The view of the two-story hotel shows a possible Queen Anne architectural style with an expansive porch with column supports, shingled roofs, cross gabled roof lines, gabled balcony, bay windows, a conical shaped tower, and other ornate components. The hotel was constructed in 1885 and demolished in 1956. During the 1920s, Walter P. Temple owned the lot and structure. There are men standing on the porch, porch steps and near the structure, a woman standing toward the left of the porch steps with a horse next to her. The background shows another structure, possibly a water tower with a windmill at top. With minor warping, minor signs of foxing, some abrasions, stains on the right edge and on reverse left edge, it's in fair condition.
