Description
A cabinet photograph of the San Gabriel River in flood, ca. 1910s. The image is taken from one side of the raging river and a bridge is barely above the crest of the water with people standing on it to the left. There are power poles on one side of the bridge, but one is leaning and the rest towards the camera are gone. There is a caption on the matte below the photo, which may have been taken during the severe flooding of January 1914, though there is no date provided. The condition is good overall with edge abrasions, moderate fading, and minor soiling.
