Description
A cabinet photograph of the south facade of the stone church, Mission San Gabriel, C.C. Pierce and Company, Los Angeles, ca. 1900. The image is from the belfry to the stone choir loft steps of the edifice, with a very small portion of the rectoary at the left. In front are newly planted palm trees alongside the unpaved Mission Road. Aside from later pencil inscriptions is the stamp for the photographer, whose quarters from April 1900 were in the Ramona Hotel building at the southwest corner of Spring and 3rd streets. With a repaired tear at the upper right, creases, soiling and a few stains, the conditions is fair.
