Description
A cabinet studio portrait of a couple, Sunbeam Art Gallery, Los Angeles, ca. 1890s. The man sits in an armchair and wears a gray patterned three-piece suit with a white shirt, tie, light colored hat with a dark band, a pin in his lapel and a watch chain on the vest. The woman stands to his left and wears a black skirt, a lace blouse with a high collar and a black hat with a veil. On the reverse in ink is the inscription, "Henry Brechtol [sp?] and wife." The image has staining at the top above the subjects, extensively on the matte, including the reverse, and abrasions. It is in fair condition.
