Description
A cabinet studio portrait of a young girl in a dance pose, E. W. Fortune, Los Angeles, ca. 1890s. The view is full-length and shows the subject on one kneee with her left arm raised above her head and her right at the side. She wears a costume that appears to have sequins and there is a tight fitting long-sleeved undergarment. Part of the backdrop is a large lace curtain. At the bottom is Fortune's cartouche and a thin sheet of paper is pasted down on the reverse. With this sheet creased, folded and torn and some minor foxing, fading, soiling and rubbing, the overall condition is good.
