2013.833.1.1Description
A cabinet studio portrait of four young women, A. W. Lohn, East Los Angeles, ca. 1889. The view shows one woman seated on the floor, two seated on pedestals above her, and the fourth standing between the other two. The lady on the floor holds a hat in her hands at her lap. The two seated above her hold softcover publications, with the one on the right holding a "Rand McNally Railway Guide." There are pedestals on the sides and a backdrop behind the quartet. Lohn's cartouche is at the bottom of the matte. There are pencil inscriptions on the reverse, but are so faded as to be unreadable except for "Iva," "sister" and "Gladys." With dented corners, rubbing, and soiling, the overall condition is good.Lexicon
