Description
A cabinet studio portrait of two girls, H. E. Schwichtenberg, Azusa/Ontario/Pomona, ca. 1890s. The image shows the two in a head-and-torso pose, wearing white dresses with large white lace collars and having their hair parted in the middle and with tightly-curled pigtails on the sides. The photographer's cartouche is at the bottom. On the reverse in pencil is what appears to be "fur Baan," which would appear to be German. Caroline Williams, wife of Nelson Williams, was a native of Germany, and the girls could be Williams family relations. With some stains and soiling on the reverse and moderate rubbing to the matte, the overall condition is good.
