Description
A carte-de-visité photograph of a young woman, Tuttle and Lee, Los Angeles, 1874. The head-and-shoulders view shows the red-haired woman wearing a white outfit with a high collar. On the reverse of the mount is the printed cartouche for William N. Tuttle and his partner (possibly Robert Lee), recently of Santa Barbara and before that worked in San Francisco, Ukiah and Modesto and who leased Valentine Wolfenstein’s gallery in the Temple Block while he traveled to Europe. With some fading, a few small stains and light soiling, the condition is good.
