A carte de visite photograph of Pio Pico by Valentine Wolfenstein, ca. 1876. Inscribed on the reverse by Thornton Sanborn, nephew of FPF Temple and ranch foreman at La Merced, who noted attending a dinner for Pico at the Pico House hotel in April 1873. The image is, however, adhered to the glass from the frame in which it was housed and is poor condition.
