A carte de visite photograph torso view of a man by Valentine Wolfenstein, Los Angeles, ca. 1872. The bearded man, wearing a black three-piece suit with white shirt and tie, sits in the studio resting his arm on an animal rug. On the reverse is the photographer's name and location. With some soiling and light edge rubbing, the overall condition is good.
