Description
A carte-de-visite studio portrait of Francis Minnie Young by A. W. Osborne, Los Angeles, ca. 1871. The young child wearing a dress, sits in the arms of a woman, likely her mother, Emily Griffin Young. On the reverse is the pencil inscription: "Francis Young / sister of / J.D. Young," this should be daughter because the child's father was John D. Young, shown in item .1 of this accesion, a farmer in the south Los Angeles area. Francis was born in May 1870 and died in November 1946 and was connected to the Griffin, Rose and Chauvin families, represented in other photos in this and the next accession. With some soiling and edge abrasions, the overall condition is good.
