Description
A carte de visite studio portrait of Salisbury Haley, Valentine Wolfenstein, Los Angeles, ca. 1874. The head-and-shoulder view is of the attorney, formerly a steamship captain in Florida and California, and who married into the Sepúlveda family of Los Angeles. On the reverse is an inscription identifying Haley as both captain of the Goliah that plied the coast and surveyor in 1851 of Santa Barbara. With a couple of small stains, soiling, minor warping and light edge rubbing, the condition is good.
