Description
A carte de visite studio portrait of William W. Temple, W.W. Wright, San Jose, California, 1869. The image shows the 18-year old in a military uniform and with a sort resting against his left and in his left hand. On the reverse in pencil in his hand is "Wm. Temple / Captain Senior / Cadets, 1869-1870" and which likely refers to his role in a Santa Clara College student organization. Also inscribed by Thomas W. Temple II is "for Inés / your Padrino / T," the recipient being his niece, Inez Fatjo. With pin holes, edge bumping, and some soiling, the condition is good.
