Description
A Christmas card with a black baby and white baby in a colored lithograph, Louis Prang and Company, Boston, 1880. The image shows the plainly-dressed black child sitting on a porch floor with his or her hands in a tub of vegetables and near a mop and bucket. The white child, wearing an expensive clostume with a blue sash or bow, crawls on a rug at the doorstep. The phrase "A Merry Christmas" is at the lower right and a four-line poem at the upper left refers to joy in households with rich and poor alike. With some soiling on the front and abrasions from removal from an album, the overall condition is good.
