Description
A colored photograph of an oil well fire, Los Angeles area, ca. 1920s. The view is from an elevated position, perhaps atop another derrick, and shows an area with flames and thick black smoke rising from the well. A fire truck and spraying water is near a corner gas station a short distance away. A few other derricks and associated structures are also of note. With a tear along what was probably a punched hole at the top center, light soiling and minor rubbing, the overall condition is good.
