2013.438.1.1Description
A colored postcard, "A Chinese Family," published by M. Rieder, Los Angeles, postmarked 5 August 1905. The colored image shows an elderly man, a young woman, and three children, including a baby held in the man's left arm. The group stands on and next to a stoop in front of the open door of a wood-sided structure. At the bottom is a short message: "I wish you could have one over in Chinatown with us, what a sight." There is an address and stamps on the back of the card, which has minor soiling, fading, corner warping and creasing, and abrasions, but is in good overall condition.Lexicon
