Description

A colored postcard of "1649—A Chinese Fortune Teller," Los Angeles, published by Edwin Mitchell, San Francisco, postmarked 10 May 1921. The card shows three Chinese men, all in traditional clothing, with one standing in the background, smiling with his hands on his hips, wearing a hat and looking at the person taking the image, a second seated in the foreground, and, between the other two, the fortune teller, seated in front of a small cloth-covered table with his divining tools. On the wall is a banner with Chinese and English script indicating his services. The postally used card has an address, a message not referring to the card, and stamps. With soiling, minor losses along the edges due to abrasions, and discoloration, the condition is fair.
