Description

A commercial photograph of the Barker Bros. building in Los Angeles, 4 June 1925. The phot was taken by Dwyer Studio, Los Angeles. The view shows the building under construction. A temporary façade on the first floor is complete with signs announcing the arrival of the furniture store in early 1926, designed by Curlett and Beelman, built by Scofield Engineering Construction Company with a 99 year lease with Sun Realty Co. Steel girders are in place for the second floor with several cranes in the air. On the street, a few blurred railway cars and automobiles travel past the building. The photograph is in good condition despite the warping and yellowing to the image.
