Description

A copy of an agreement between Peregrine Fitzhugh and William Workman, 15 February 1871. The item concerned a promissory note from the former to the latter for $10,632 on 2 December 1868 and due three years later and which Workman extended by a year, but with interest of $400 on the first two years due. Also stipulated was that, if Fitzhugh was to sell the 5,316 acres of Workman's half of Rancho La Puente acquired under the note, the proceeds were to apply to it. In early April 1872, the tract was sold by Fitzhugh and Workman to Edward F. Beale and Robert S. Baker. With several large stains, folds and soiling, the condition is fair.
