2011.431.1.1Description
A couple in front of a Los Angeles house, ca. 1923. The two, probably in their fifties, are on the sidewalk in front of a two-story Craftsman-style structure largely obscured by the wide-spreading fronds on two palm trees planted on the grass median near the street. Part of an adjacent house is at the left and some commercial buildings on Main Street are at the far right. Parked on the curb on either side of the couple is, at left, a Ford Model T and, at right, a 1923 Dodge. The reverse has an ink inscription, "Front view of the house / 300 E 36 St / Los Angeles," and a pencil one "1923 Dodge Model T Ford." The house still stands today. With album paper residue, soiling and rubbing, the overall condition is good.
