Description
A daguerreotype of F.P.F. Temple (1822-1880) and Antonia Margarita Workman (1830-1892), Los Angeles, 1852. A cased daguerreotype with an embossed floral design, leather cover and faded red velvet lining with floral design. F.P.F, is seated at left wearing a dark colored suit and tie with white shirt. His right hand is on his right leg and his left arm around his wife. She is seated at right and wears a plaid print dress with white collar, black lace veil, and black lace glove on her right hand, which is clasped with her left on her lap. The item is in poor condition on account of the broken leather hinge. Overall light abrasion to the cover is also present. Photographic image is in fair condition with black spots on the surface. The metal plate casing in the photograph exhibits signs of corrosion with greenish spots. This daguerreotype was reproduced as item 96.7.99.2.
