Description

A daguerreotype of two unidentified young girls, ca. 1850s. A cased daguerreotype with an embossed floral design, leather cover and red velvet lining with floral design. The older girl sits while the younger one, probably her sister, stands beside her with a hand on her shoulder. The younger girl wears a plaid gingham dress with a pearl necklace, while the older one wears a solid colored dress with a lace collar. The case is in poor condition on account of the weak leather at the hinge and there are overall light abrasions to the cover. The image, however, is in good condition.
