Description

A deed between A[lvinza] B. Hayward and F.P.F. Temple, 5 February 1869 and recorded 18 January 1870. The document transferred, for the straw deed amount of $1, half of the former's interest (in turn, the half interest of Stephen Boushey) in fifty feet of a lode for the Little Hill mining claim on Santa Catalina Island. Attached is a statement from Justice of the Peace William H. Gray acknowledging Hayward's appearance and execution of the document. A recorder's statement noted the date of 18 January 1870 on request of Temple, the date also on the front panel. With creases, minor edge wear, minor stains/soiling, and minor discoloration, the object is in good to fair condition overall.
