A deed from Alejo Rendon and his wife Rosario Acevedo to Francis W. Temple, 11 January 1878. The sale was for four acres on the Rancho de Azusa for $150 and the sellers signed in the presence of witness Joseph M. Workman, Temple's cousin and son of William and Nicolasa Workman and then-owner of 825 acres on the Rancho La Puente. Rendon, a barber by trade, briefly ran the Workman Mill store after proprietor William Turner was attacked there in June 1874 and later ran a store at Azusa. After this sale, he moved to Old Mission, where the Temple family long resided and his daughter, Hortensia, provided, in the 1950s, information to Thomas W. Temple II about her recollections. With edge tears, folds, creases, soiling and stains, the condition is fair.Lexicon
