Description

A snapshot of a destroyed railroad trestle at the Los Angeles River and the Glendale Boulevard crossing, Los Angeles, 1914. The image is taken from at or near the river's water level at the foot of a tall bank at the left. The twisted railroad track extends from the bank into the water. In the distance, across the river, is the portion of the trestle at the opposite bank. A hill with a house atop it is in the distance. An ink inscription at the bottom reads "Los A River Glendale Blvd 1913," though the year was early 1914. With a small loss at the upper left corner, album paper residue on the reverse, and some soiling, the condition is good overall.
