Description

A snapshot photograph of a destroyed steel railroad bridge at the Los Angeles River, February 1914. The photographer stood at one bank of the swollen river and took in the damage at the other bank. The bridge failed at a seam and the two portions are collapsed into the water along the bank. There are some trees and perhaps structures in the background. The overall condition is good, though there is a red stain at the upper left out of the image.
