Description
A detail of a bell at the belfry of the Mission San Gabriel, C. W. Darby of Los Angeles, ca. 1918. The closeup shows the old bell hanging from wooden supports in an opening at the top of the stone church. On the wood is graffiti, while in the distance are some trees and open land in the distance. On the reverse is a pencil inscription, "Mission Bell / San Gabriel / L.A." With album paper residue, some soiling and edge rubbing, the overall condition is good.
