Description

A dozen persons posed on the porch and front steps of a home on Eagle Street in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, 1911. The home is a transitional one with Victorian-era elements, such as gingerbread siding on the upper roof area and wood board siding at the lower level. A porch spans across the entire front and the five children and seven adults are standing or seated there or on the porch steps. Lawns, walks and portions of trees are also of note. On the reverse is an ink inscription identifyng the date of the image, the age of the house (built 1908) and identifying the persons as members of the Richer and Bundly families, although the surname of the latter is not clear. With some soiling and edge rubbing, the condition is good.
