Description

A draft letter from F.P.F. Temple to Cynthia Temple, 2 July 1856. Written from the Gold Rush town of Springfield, his headquarters for operations in Tuolumne County, F.P.F. wrote his sister of the death of their mother, Lucinda Parker. He also offered to arrange for his sickly sibling to travel to California to improve her health and enclosed $500 for a tombstone for their parents. With tears that have nearly separated the two sheets, stains and creases, the condition is fair.
