Description

A DRIVEWAY GATE AND FENCE FROM DUBOIS WOVEN WOOD FENCE PAMPHLET Color: Black; White A photograph of a driveway gate and fence from a pamphlet for Dubois Woven Wood fences, ca. 1920s. The horizontal image shows part of a road in the foreground, with the driveway entrance at the center. Two thick white poles with pediments and balls at the top have white wood gates with curved tops attached to them. Extending to the left and right of the gate is the Dubois woven wood fence, consisting of thin poles with pointed tops and held together by five sections of horizontal bracing on the other side, as seen in item .7. Behind the fence is a thick grove of trees, through which part of a home is visible. A caption at the bottom reads "FOR THE ESTATE BORDERING A PUBLIC HIGHWAY." At the lower left is the inscription "Dubois Woven Wood Fence / Made in France," while at the lower right is "Robert C. Reeves Co. / New York." There appears to be little wear or damage to the artifact, which is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
