Description

A cabinet card photograph of a firefighting crew using a water hose on a house, Los Angeles, Otto Kerner, 23 May 1909. The group of about ten men are in street clothes with one of them spraying the house with the hose, evidently in a training exercise. The photographer stood in the street and was three houses or so away. Off the unpaved street are about a dozen houses, all looking the same, and one empty lot. On the reverse is the photographer's stamp and a date stamp. With some soiling and edge rubbing to the matte, the overall condition is good.
